Another Day at 86 Briarcliff Castle Estates - July 14/15

Greetings...

I am getting way behind on updating my blog (which I knew would happen... lol)

Of course I have been over at 86 Briarcliff Castle Estates many times since my last blog entry doing all kinds of work... here is a sample of different projects:

• brought over an electrician to give a quote for doing electrical work. Quote was $16,000

• lot's of cleaning outdoors, and landscaping

• working on getting basic water hooked up...

• "grokking" interior for ideas on layout and electrical & plumbing hook-ups

• hooking up solar lights

• brought Kubota up to help with landscaping

Day 4: More moving and cleaning ;-) AND I got a huge dumpster delivered!

Again today after work, I moved a bunch of stuff over to Briarcliff Castle Estates. I also accomplished a few cool projects!

1) today I had a huge dumpster delivered so I can clean up property and have a place for construction debris

2) did some outdoor landscaping work , weeding, rock work, etc...

3) moved more stuff out of storage unit, and into garage. Storage is almost empty

This was a quick trip... cause I had to rush over to meet dumpster delivery guy...

The adventure is progressing daily... like a turtle :)

Day 3: More moving and cleaning ;-)

Again today after work, I moved a bunch of stuff over to Briarcliff Castle Estates. I also accomplished a few cool projects!

1) I hooked up solar lights up the drive way!

2) I swept the driveway of all the sand and gravel. Thought of ways to block sand and gravel from getting on driveway! :)

3) I checked out details of construction to see where there might be outside air infiltration... the biggest culprit to energy losses

4) I measured for where the clean up dumpster would go. I purchased a 30 cubic yard version... the biggest

5) I further set up my "office" with laptop and internet

My main goal is to create an incredible estate AND have fun doing it!

Day 2: More moving and cleaning

Again today after work, I moved a bunch of stuff over to Briarcliff Castle Estates. I also accomplished a few cool projects!

1) I hooked up my stereo system using a vintage Pioneer tuner from the 70's and Peavey PA monitors! This system rocks!

2) I mowed the grass - I mean weeds! :)

3) I set up a table to work as my office away from the office

4) I added more rust remover to granite sill

5) I did a small amount of general cleaning

6) Set up a clean area to store household stuff until movein

My main goal is to create an incredible estate AND have fun doing it!

A little overview of 86 Briarcliff Castle Estates

86 Briarcliff Castle Estates is located on 9.22 acres in Gilford NH overlooking Lake Winnepasukee. The house is 5300 square feet and consists of 3 levels... a 3 car garage & studio apartment, the main floor with dining room, master bedroom, kitchen, master bathroom, guest bathroom, pool room, and pantry.

The third level has an area for a library, study, an office/studio, and a guest bedroom.

The view from 86 Briarcliff Castle Estates is stunning!! I have not seen many views that compare in all my travels around the world.

Day 1: Moving tools and cleaning stuff to 86 Briarcliff Castle Estates

Today after work, I moved a bunch of stuff over to Briarcliff Castle Estates. I also accomplished a few cool projects!

1) I got the electric hooked up and now with power, I can do a lot more!

2) I got my Svend | Design business sign up, along with solar lights :)

3) I did a repair on deck siding that was loose

4) I removed some rust stains from a granite sill

5) I did a small amount of general cleaning

6) Wrote notes of cool things to work on!

My main goal is to create an incredible estate AND have fun doing it!

The Adventure Begins! 86 Briarcliff Road - Briarcliff Castle Estates

On June 19th, 2009 I closed on my new home, office & recording studio, known as Briarcliff Castle Estates, located in Gilford NH. The home is 80% done and the only remaining work is to finish the interior, which is the best part!

This blog will update you on my adventure of creating and finishing Briarcliff Castle Estates!
